4U Server Chassis – Heavy-Duty Rackmount Enclosures | Server Warehouse

4U is the most versatile rackmount form factor for custom server builds. The additional height compared to 2U and 3U allows full-length expansion cards, more drive bays, better airflow, and easier cable management. All 4U chassis in this range are 19-inch compatible and sold without a power supply.

Standard ATX builds: The CSF018 at 450mm depth and ATX support is our highest-stock 4U model, suited to standard server and workstation builds. The K445FB is the industrial variant — also 450mm ATX but with eight 3.5-inch drive bays, making it the correct choice for storage-heavy builds such as NAS, backup targets or surveillance recording servers.

EATX builds: Both the K480FB (480mm deep) and 4U-450RX (450mm deep) support EATX motherboards. The K480FB offers seven expansion slots; the 4U-450RX includes a front door with key lock and removable dust filter — useful in environments with higher dust exposure.

Depth and rack fit: All 4U chassis in this range are 450mm to 480mm deep, fitting comfortably in standard 600mm deep South African racks with room for rear cabling. If your rack is a shallow 450mm depth, measure carefully — the chassis body alone is 450mm and you will have no rear clearance.

Compatible PSUs: the PSU-350W-REAR-HR and PSU-400W-REARFAN are rear-exhaust ATX units matched to this chassis range. Rail kits are sold separately — the NJ-2020-18 (18-inch) and NJ-2020-22 (22-inch) cover most standard rack depths.
