The HPE MSA 2062 10GbE iSCSI SFF Storage (R0Q82B) is an entry-level dual-controller SAN array built for small and medium-sized businesses that need flash-accelerated storage without the complexity or cost of a mid-range system. It ships ready to deploy with 3.84 TB of flash capacity already installed and an all-inclusive Advanced Data Services software licence included, making it one of the more complete out-of-the-box propositions at this price point.
At its core are two 4-port 10GbE iSCSI controllers running in active-active configuration, delivering up to 395,000 IOPS and 1.2 GBps of sustained throughput. Dual redundant hot-plug power supplies and dual controllers eliminate single points of failure, giving the array an availability profile well above what a NAS or single-controller system can offer.
The 24-bay SFF chassis accommodates 2.5" drives in any mix of Read Intensive SSDs, Enterprise SAS HDDs, or Midline SAS HDDs, and the automated tiering engine (included in the Advanced Data Services licence) moves hot data to faster media in real time without manual intervention. The base array supports up to 92.16 TB raw capacity across its 24 bays. For larger deployments, up to 9 additional HPE MSA 2060 expansion enclosures (LFF or SFF) can be added, scaling raw capacity to over 1.8 PB.
Data protection features include virtualized snapshots, remote replication over iSCSI, and support for self-encrypting drives with local key management. The array is certified for use with HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, Veeam Backup and Replication (as a backup repository with Instant VM Recovery), and all major hypervisors and operating systems.
Management is handled through a browser-based interface, accessible via the two dedicated 1GbE Ethernet management ports, with SNMP and SMTP support for integration with monitoring and alerting platforms. A rack mounting kit and two 7-metre PDU cords are included.
